Hi there!
My name is Kate Malerba and I bring the user’s perspective to every conversation.
I uncover hidden opportunities and design thoughtfully efficient experiences.
Currently based in Chicago, Illinois, I’m creating easier ways to park your car with Arrive (formerly ParkWhiz). I love the field of UX because it is a constant cycle of listening curiously, learning rapidly, and solving real world problems.
I am driven by opportunities to positively impact the lives of others. No matter the size of the budget or project, I am strongly motivated to design a solution that serves users and meets business needs. I am highly organized, solution-oriented and truly enjoy collaborating with others. I have a lot of experience working with researchers, UX designers, UI designers, software engineers, product managers and stakeholders of all levels.
I received my BA in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, where I took an extracurricular interest in visual arts, often supplementing my schedule with fine arts classes. My psychology background powers my understanding of human cognition and behavior, while my art interest powers my ability to design clean and simple interfaces.
When I’m not at work, you can find me exploring new places, at a small-venue concert, or in search of the perfect cappuccino.
